The Guide to
 Nightclubs!
G'day all, keep checking this page as we've put together a group of people and we'll be making this site into much much more! More reviews, online passes, searchable layout!

Bennett's Lane Jazz Club:

Great Jazz, but a bit on the pricey side for us poor students. Door fee is set at $10/9conc to get in. The drinks are expensive as well. So bring your student cards, down a few beforehand cuz the Jazz here is superb!
- Bennett Lane (Duh) just behind the Museum in the City

The Bullring

<Picture> Excellent Latin American night club. On fridays, a 15 piece Latin American band plays 'till around 2:30 and is absolutely superb. Sundays and Wednesdays you can join in and learn to dance the Latin style. Three couples were dancing when I went a few weeks ago and it's just as much fun watching them as listening and watching the band play!
- Cover charge of around $6-8 but worth it. Free after 2am, but not much left then.
- North side of Johnston Street between Brunswick and Nicholson Streets, Fitzroy

The Circuit

Good pub/nightclub with pool tables and dance floor. Mostly for the 18-20 year olds. Gets packed out by about 9pm on Thursday nights, so go early.
-Dress: Jeans w/out holes, dress shoes and shirt w/collar
-Around $5.00 to get in.

The Club Band Venue & Bar:

The Club doesn't open 'till around 11-11:30pm and closes when the cows come home. The Club has been open for a number of years now. This alone shows how successful it has been in getting top notch bands. Two bands on Fridays, first starts Midnight, 2nd around 2:30am and goes till 5-5:30am. Pool tables upstairs with a bar, and tables downstairs along with the band and yes, another bar. Regular bar prices for beer - $4 crownies, and $3.50 VB's. Great cover bands playing Hendrix, Clapton and Old-Style Blues on Friday/Saturday Nights as well as other types of bands. Top place for those that want to party after 2am. More of the 25-30 year old crowd.
$3.oo Entry
- 132a Smith St, Collingwood

Downunder Rock Cafe:

Well, this place has changed since I was here last. The area upstairs is set up for bands and isn't too shabby at it. Downstairs they have an arcade set up with Daytona, pinnies and a cocktail bar. Very swish. From what I've seen, bands are on Fridays and Saturdays. Will find out more soon.
- 186 Lygon St, Carlton

The Night Cat

<Picture> If you want to see Jazz, here's a good start. This is that 'lamp shade place' (what a friend of mine calls it). Pretty much any dress goes, from suits to ripped jeans, but most people come fairly dressed up in whatever style they choose... remember it's a jazz club. Highly recommend it.
- Johnston Street, just before the petrol station.

Ruby Red:

Argh.. Moved down Johnston Street, Fitzroy.. down the East End.
